Application example turntable on tracked vehicle

Crossed roller bearings with hardened races are extremists: they can withstand the highest torque loads, shock loads and vibrations and therefore reach regions that were previously unattainable for wire race bearings. The machining of hardened races requires completely new technologies. Together with the application-specific design of the enclosing construction, this results in rotary components for the toughest applications. For example, in the storage of heavy equipment on vehicles or means of transport for any terrain, under continuous load with high tilting moments, such as in slewing mounts on trolleys.

Solution

Franke bearing in special design with hardened races.

Advantages

Wire races with cross-sections of 10mm and more require special methods for production and processing. New methods and processes are used in particular for the production of smaller bearings up to 300 mm in diameter. Coupled with cross-shaped rollers, races in this category transfer all the advantages of a wire race bearing to the heavy-duty range:

  • Maximum rigidity and moment load capacity
  • Maximum load capacity and robustness
  • Uniform rotational resistance, even under difficult installation and load conditions
  • Compact installation space
