Roller guide

A roller guide is a special type of linear guide system based on the principle of roller bearings. It enables precise and low-friction linear movement along an axis and is used in various industrial applications.

A roller guide usually consists of the following main components:

1. guide rail: the guide rail is a long, straight bar or profile along which the movement takes place. It has a precisely ground or rolled surface on which the rollers of the carriage slide.

2. carriage: The carriage is the moving element of the roller guide. It is equipped with a series of roller bearings that roll along the guide rail. The rollers are arranged in a cage and enable low-friction movement with less wear.

3. drive system: The drive system is responsible for moving the carriage along the guide rail. It can take various forms, such as an electric motor with toothed belt, ball screw drive or a pneumatic or hydraulic drive.

The roller guide offers high rigidity, load capacity and precision in linear motion. It is particularly suitable for applications with high loads and high speeds. By using roller bearings instead of ball bearings, the roller guide can also absorb greater loads.

Roller guides are used in various areas such as machine tools, handling systems, presses, conveyor systems, packaging machines and many other applications where precise and low-friction linear motion is required.

There are different types of roller guides, including prismatic roller guides, doorway guides and round guides. Each type has its own characteristics and areas of application. Choosing the right roller guide depends on the specific requirements of the application, such as load, speed, precision and environmental conditions.
