Requirements
The sample table of a neutron scattering system requires a nearly non-magnetic slewing ring that fulfils the highest requirements in terms of rigidity, precision and, in particular, positioning accuracy. This is essential as the slewing ring has to withstand an axial load of around one tonne. It is driven by a worm drive that enables precise movement.

A customised slewing ring made of non-magnetic stainless steel with worm gear teeth, including a paired worm shaft made of aluminium bronze.

The use of non-magnetic stainless steel eliminates magnetic interference within the neutron scattering system and thus ensures that it functions perfectly. The slewing ring impresses with its low overall height and large centre clearance. It is supplied fully pre-assembled, which enables quick and uncomplicated integration.
