Waste generated at our own facilities should, as a general rule, be avoided, but at the very least minimized. Managers are required to take this into account when planning products and production processes, as well as when planning packaging.

To this end, the necessary on-site waste stations have been installed in all plants at the location, as well as collection stations in the outdoor areas, to facilitate targeted pickup and proper disposal by selected specialized companies. Franke GmbH does not carry out its own waste recycling. The company cooperates fully with certified and qualified specialized companies, preferably from the region. The waste management officer oversees the waste balance and is also responsible for fulfilling the mandatory reporting requirements to the authorities.

Franke’s business operations require the use of natural resources and therefore contribute to the increasing scarcity of necessary raw materials and to negative environmental impacts resulting from the extraction, processing, and disposal of materials. This is already leading to rising prices for energy, raw materials, and waste disposal, which in turn undermine competitiveness.

For this reason, Franke optimizes its processes with both environmental and economic considerations in mind and designs them to require as few resources as possible. From product development through to customer use, Franke takes environmental factors into account to make remedial actions largely unnecessary.

Absolute water consumption (water withdrawal, from no areas with high water stress) and water consumption per employee (water ratio) continued to rise in 2025 following a reduction in previous years. This is due to an increase in operating area as well as higher production volumes and the resulting increase in water consumption.
