We act sustainably
Sustainability Report
We firmly believe that it is crucial to fulfil the needs of today's generation without jeopardising the opportunities and possibilities of future generations. That is why we strive to achieve a harmonious balance between the environment, society and the economy.
Three pillars of sustainability
The goal of sustainable development is achieved by harmonising the three pillars of sustainability (commitment/ecology/economy).
A sustainability team was set up specifically for this purpose, which reports directly to the management.
The sustainability report for the respective calendar year is prepared in collaboration between the sustainability team and the departments involved.
In addition, we provide you with all the necessary information in our sustainability profile on Integrity Next.

Disposal
Waste generated at our own facilities should, as a general rule, be avoided, but at the very least minimized. Managers are required to take this into account when planning products and production processes, as well as when planning packaging.
To this end, the necessary on-site waste stations have been installed in all plants at the location, as well as collection stations in the outdoor areas, to facilitate targeted pickup and proper disposal by selected specialized companies. Franke GmbH does not carry out its own waste recycling. The company cooperates fully with certified and qualified specialized companies, preferably from the region. The waste management officer oversees the waste balance and is also responsible for fulfilling the mandatory reporting requirements to the authorities.
| Financial year | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 |
| Total waste | 494 | 360 | 447 |
| Hazardous waste | 134 | 85 | 110 |
| Non-hazardous waste | 360 | 276 | 335 |
| Hazardous waste/turnover (t/Mio €) | 3 | 2 | 2 |
| Non-hazardous waste/turnover (t/Mio €) | 7 | 5 | 6 |
CO2-Emissions
Franke GmbH is working to reduce its CO2 emissions. The plan is to offset remaining emissions through carbon offset measures. Initially, this will apply to Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased energy), but not to Scope 3 (indirect emissions within the value chain), in accordance with the GHG Protocol. The remaining emissions will be offset.
Quantified balance of greenhouse gas emissions:
| Financial year | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 | Plan 2026 |
| CO2-Emissions (t) without offsetting | 670 | 651 | 155 | 280 | 234 |
| Scope 1 | 188 | 188 | 155 | 280 | 234 |
| Natural gas | 148 | 121 | 102 | 201 | 218 |
| Heating oil | 25 | 43 | 24 | 64 | 0 |
| Fugitive emissions (greenhouse gases) | - | - | 1 | - | 1 |
| Fuels (vehicle fleet) | 16 | 24 | 18 | 15 | 16 |
| Scope 2 | 482 | 464 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Electricity | 482 | 464 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| CO2-Emissions/Turnover (t/Mio €) | 11 | 12 | 4 | 4 | 3 |
| CO2-Emissions/Employees (t/Mio €) | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| CO2 offsetting (t) | 0 | 0 | 0 | 280 | 235 |
| CO2-Emissions (t) with offsetting | 670 | 651 | 155 | 0 | 0 |

Resource consumption and
Resource extraction
Franke’s business operations require the use of natural resources and therefore contribute to the increasing scarcity of necessary raw materials and to negative environmental impacts resulting from the extraction, processing, and disposal of materials. This is already leading to rising prices for energy, raw materials, and waste disposal, which in turn undermine competitiveness.
For this reason, Franke optimizes its processes with both environmental and economic considerations in mind and designs them to require as few resources as possible. From product development through to customer use, Franke takes environmental factors into account to make remedial actions largely unnecessary.
Absolute water consumption (water withdrawal, from no areas with high water stress) and water consumption per employee (water ratio) continued to rise in 2025 following a reduction in previous years. This is due to an increase in operating area as well as higher production volumes and the resulting increase in water consumption.
Perspective 2026+
Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, Franke GmbH is already implementing a number of measures designed to help the company achieve its established environmental goals in the coming years:
Energy Efficiency Measures
Expansion of LED lighting
Leak testing of compressed air supply
Shutdown of inefficient compressed air supply in plant 2
Relocation of production facilities to an energy-efficient plant
Heat recovery from compressors at plant 6

Potential Eenergy Efficiency Measures
Install energy data collection system to identify new measures
Heating system upgrade at plant 2 (retrofit of heat pump at plant 6)
Central exhaust system for grinding equipment at plant 1

Climate Neutrality Measures
Use of green electricity
Use of bio-natural gas
Use of CO2-neutral heating oil
PV systems
CO2 Offsetting
Procurement of Aluminum Raw Materials with a Reduced CO2 Footprint

Potential Climate Neutrality Measures
